Living in The Tower is not easy. It costs an arm and a leg, literally for some.

Reese was doing fine working in Impetus. The gold made his life in the virtual world comfortable, converted to credits, surviving in The Tower was almost bearable.

However, good things don't last forever. When greed costs the young man his livelihood, and eviction to one of the terrifying lower levels becomes an imminent threat Reese finds himself backed against the proverbial wall.

The only way to avoid a vicious cycle of poverty is to start from scratch, even if it means doing so indebted to the violent gangs that populate both worlds.

Only this time, Reese has no option but to take a different path, one that his younger-self deemed dull and boring.

(The much-awaited Troll.Lancer rewrite is here! Minus the Lance and much more crafting)

You know what I love in this novel, it’s the world building and world/universe structure. It is by far the best best structure I’ve seen in many novels. Same with the power/cultivation levels.I’ve seen so many stupid novels revolve around bloodlines, talent, potential, stealing talents, spirit/saint bones, spiritual roots, some gods defying amazing pills, medicines, natural treasures. It’s like without these or other resources which are controlled by high level sects/families yada yada, no one in the can achieve anything in their world. I hate that kinda of worlds or environment. I think the authors somehow try to superimpose their society they live in (communist china society which is controlled by ccp)to the entire universe. They try to say that how their society is is how the universe is. Like everyone is out there to get mc treasures or world and only girls with super big background like MC and other stupid stereotypical stuff. I was sick and tired of it. This novel is really a breath of fresh air. True the MC journey is kinda smooth but I think we feel that way because of the writing of the author. He didn’t drag or overemphasise MC hardships so we feel he had a smooth journey but he did not. Yes it’s not Super tragic or dark but he had a fair share of his troubles in his path. And the best part of this novel and other IET novels is that Mc cultivates because they genuinely love it. And their world is not close ended like there can be only 3 sages in the universe, there is only enough mana for only one magic god to be born, there can only be 1 emperor for a particular dao in the universe etc etc, you can’t make it big Without a faction/super background supporting you, without some bloodlines you can’t be amazing, every big faction will suppress outside talents. Here the world is open. Yes all of the above are included but you can also become amazing without any of those too. Here the emphasis is on dao and enlightenment. If you have enough comprehension of your dao, you don’t need those pills, cultivation techniques, bloodlines, resources, sects to standout. There is no limit of how many people can step into higher stage. It’s not like first coke first served in the universe. Like multiple people can practise a same dao without affecting others, they are not limited by the universe In any way. It’s not like if a top bloodline races dictate everything. Yes their bloodlines, resources, foundation etc help but dao is supreme. Even if a mortal gets enlightened on a supreme dao then he is no way inferior to others with background. And the best part is no one here is fuckjng obsessed with beauty, thank god. I have had enough of beauty and their descriptions in other novels. This is the kinds of beautiful universe structure with lots of potential which I like. Other authors should learn from this. Definitely worth a read. When anyone new reads, pay attention to the world structure, this is the kind of world we should appreciate.
