If you're looking for sensibly written characters, this the wrong place chief.
Quite frankly the way how people are written in this novel feels like a strawman argument created by a cynical conspiracy theorist. I mean, thousands of towers appear out of thin air and the most accepted theory about them is that they are an optical illusion created by pollution? Thousands of optical illusions all across the globe that LOOK EXACTLY THE SAME?????? How do you even factor pollution into that? It's ridiculous anyone would even believe such a theory and makes the whole setting unrealistic. The individual people are also written so awfully, especially the religious fanatic.
I've just started reading this novel and despite how good the mystery/game aspects of it are, I don't I'm going to finish this. I just can't turn my brain off hard enough.

What if instead of Voldemort we have a classic Demon King? Which is also defeated and divided into 7 pieces? and is lurking inthe background waiting to be revived? Then let's make Harry Potter the classic Hero and as in the original he is as useless here.
What if Malfoi is the real end Villain ? let's call it Demon God!
What if we make the MC be a "reincarnated into a cheap copycat game world being the ultimate villain Demon God Malfoi?"
What if ! because I'm still not satisfied! What if we give him a System! yes a system!
What if this is a rom-com/harem? This is a failed gal dating game that is played only for the duels!
