I recommend passing on this one unless you want to read yet another racist author’s work. It doesn’t happen in the first 40 chapters, but I’ve read the MTL and it happens later in the story when the MC goes to a higher realm and is talking to one of the officials in that realm of the likelihood of being able to marry even a maid in the realm. The official tries to explain it with a hypothetical — “If you had a daughter who wanted to marry a Black man, you wouldn’t like that, right?” And MC goes, “I’d break some legs if I had a daughter that dared to marry a Black man.” Ugh.
I have to be honest I am completely weirded out by the novel. You know Twilight right ? That werewolf guy Jacob that saw Bella pregnant with the vampire Edward's child. Smelled her daughter somehow in her belly and decided to raise her kid before getting romantically involve with her ? That is how I felt reading this.I have read up to chapter 23 and towards the end I could not continue anymore because of how uncomfortable I felt, exact same feeling. Like right that moment MC is two days old and the girl has fallen in complete love with MC both body and mind. I know it's not technically pedo since they are both kids but MC is still a baby. The elders knows, the grandmother of the girl also see through it and thinks it's ok.Like look, I know the title of the novel and it was because of it I was thinking to myself I will finally be happy to be able to find a novel without romance however not only did I not get what I wished for but I can already imagine reading the next chapters about a little girl grooming MC to marry him later and this is as bad as what Twilight had made me feel.Translation quality 5Story development 2 (Very slow)Character design 1 (Too 1 dimensional)World background 5 (Takes from other novel, no creativity but ok not bad I guess)
I just came across this book when I was looking at the originals. So far I like the story. The main character seems to be a little arrogant but since its been a only two chapters I cannot be 100% sure. As for the girl don't know if she is the main heroine yet. Will stay updated on this.
I really loved the world building part and how the characters are introduced. Very engaging in terms of how the plot moves ahead. I am really enjoying this read. Best wishes to the author and keep going on your writing path!
