Near-death experience gave me a new life

Eighteenth day of the month of Vir in the year of 1580, the day I'm going to be introduced to my new family. I honestly don't know how to feel about this, should I be happy that I can finally get rid of living a life in poverty? Should I be happy that my dad acknowledges me as her daughter and came for me? Before all of this, I lived my life thinking I will probably die without even experiencing what it is like to eat a sumptuous meal and without experiencing the warmth of having a complete family. I lived my life knowing that I can die anytime if I am not careful and that the world is full of treacherous and cruel people. I've always asked God this question "there are millions of people in this world, why do i have to experience all these hardship?" My mom died when I was young. I don't have a dad nor other family members to take care of me. I can only rely on myself. Until one day, an old man wearing expensive clothes came to my small dwelling and informed me that his master is my dad and wanted to adopt me.Rather than being happy about it I feel confused. My dad said that my new mother would cherish me like I'm her own daughter, and she's really happy to finally have another family member. But, on my way to the capital where my dad lives, something happened that would completely change my outlook in life.
