HATE ME

"Can you explain your presence here?" she asked, gazing out the window with an unyielding gaze. Ever since he entered, she had avoided looking at him, treating him like a specter. To him, she was far from a ghost, yet to others, perhaps she was. She couldn't comprehend why. "I just wanted to visit," he ventured. With a heavy sigh, she finally turned towards him, her face etched with tears. His anger flared within him. As she approached, she spoke through clenched teeth, her voice tinged with frustration. "At any moment, it's unbearable, Ray. Can't you see that?" she questioned. "I understand if you're upset, I could come back another day..." he offered. "No, not tomorrow, not the next day! I need some space, please. Stop trying to assist me, Ray. We both know it won't work. I wonder why you persist in this effort," she implored, desperation creeping into her voice. "Just leave me alone!" "Why do you push me away so relentlessly? I only wish to help," he pleaded, feeling his own tears well up. The girl he loved was hurting him by pushing him away. "Because it's futile. No one can rescue me, not even you. Your efforts will only cause more pain, beyond our comprehension," she spat, fresh tears brimming in her eyes. Her demeanor was consistently somber, without a single smile to be seen. He had never realized how much she longed for happiness. "But I love you! I love you so much! Why can't you grasp that and let me stay?" he exclaimed, gripping her shoulders, his heart aching. "If you truly love me, Ray, then despise me," she challenged, locking eyes with him, offering him a choice between love and hatred.
