Different Breed of Witch: A Saraid Maddox Novel

The novel is very interesting and very different, a great read to get out of the same cliché (despite having its clichés... cough young master cough). The criticism is that the author gets a lot lost talking about things out of the context of the moment, character and scene, things like people working and the place where she is working (which adds nothing and consumes 1 chapter, if not many).

The story started off strong, and snagged my attention from the beginning . The pacing and the quality of this novel are also pretty good. The first couple of chapters reveal why the mc has his nickname “ The Martial Arts King”.  Everything from the action scenes, to the  various environments are described in depth(which allows my imagination to soar). Another thing I noticed was that the side characters introduced, threw me through a loop. They acted differently than what I was expecting, and I really enjoyed that. I’m excited to see how the Celestial Fist Tournament plays out.

Literally best novel ever, a little slower pace at the beginning, but it is completely worth it as it speeds up and is amazing. Sadly they dropped it, I hope that it is picked back up by another translator soon.

This is actually a good premise, but the execution is just horrible. Either the translator skipped paragraphs, or the author doesn't feel the need to explain or plan anything properly.Examples:-MC transfers 1-3 days of cultivation every day, despite receiving multiple days of cultivation each time. We could say he cannot transfer the cultivation given by the system, but that means he can only transfer 1 day since technically he gave away the previous day's cultivation. - Pick a hard technique because the longer it takes to cultivate the better. Huh? Why?- Since he only gives the pet 1-3 days of cultivation at a time, it should be impossible for his pet to keep up with him, since he gets much more in return. Yet, their levels are synced. - MC reaches bottleneck and needs combat to breakthrough. How much combat? 1 fight...All interactions in the school are just 1 badly done cliché  after another. So monotonous and uninspiring that you might as well just skip it. I wish another author copied this theme and did a good job with it.

Writing: it's translated, so there are some problems but nothing major.Stability: the story has been completed, so no new updates.Development: there are some annoying time skips, and pacing sometimes runs wild, but the overall plot is excellent. The only fault is that the last three chapters (647.1, 647.2, and 648) break it all and leave you sad.Character design is fantastic. You can see MC's journey from human to serpent. One can grow to appreciate even minor characters like Squirrel or Giant Turtle, probably it's just me, but somehow I could never really care about secondary human characters even if they are attractive.World background is really extensive and complex. The only thing one can fuss about is a complete lack of reason or diplomacy between superpowers. Later on, countries just want to slap each other because yes.

Beginning of a good story. So please don't make virtual world in to a alien world or parallel world. Hope for the best . Complex characters, an inventive use of magic, great worldbuildkng, gorgeous writing, and a very unconventional love story set against the backdrop of a tyrannical cult. Rowan and Wren are adorable!
