Katherine found herself in an unexpected situation where she had to pose as Adam Beaumont's fiancée and enter into marriage with him. Little did she know that Adam was more than just a wealthy businessman and a feared mafia leader; he was also a hidden supernatural entity, transforming into a terrifying creature by night and a nightmare-inducing beast for others. As she grappled with this revelation, Katherine wondered: would she still choose to accept him despite his dual nature? What if the man she thought she knew wasn't really Adam at all, but rather Carter, a figure of significance within the mysterious underground world? And what if Katherine's own identity held a significant secret – that she wasn't Katherine Sullivan, but the enigmatic Eve Delluci, destined to play a crucial part in Carter's intricate existence? These revelations left her questioning everything she believed about herself and her future with this extraordinary being.

I endured this novel for so long in the hope that mc would evolve and become more bearable...no result ...it only gets worse, like the whole novel over the volumes
the story ended up becoming an apology for China, with contempt and racism for everything that is not Chinese.
