Cursed Shaman

A mysterious attack of supernatural entities has brought terror in Manila. But it doesn’t stop there—other regions across the Philippines soon report the sudden appearance of strange portals. These gateways have become the path for monstrous creatures bent on spreading chaos and destruction throughout the human world. The Philippine government, unprepared for these supernatural onslaughts, takes swift action. They establish a specialized task force—the Gatekeeper Association—which combines the power of the police, military, and a select group of individuals known as Shamans. Shamans possess rare and unique abilities, each one a bulwark against the malevolent forces crossing into the human realm. One of these Shamans is Irosin, an eighteen-year-old who stands out for all the wrong reasons. Unlike the other Shamans, who wield mighty and awe-inspiring powers, Irosin’s abilities are underwhelming, and his reluctance is evident. He didn’t join the association out of a desire to fight or protect others—he joined because the government pays them handsomely, and as a self-supporting youth with few other options, he needs the money.
