So I actually read up to... chapter 490-ish? I think? Anyways that was during the very long hiatus the story was on, so when I realized it was updating again, I decided to give it another read, but I just couldn't get past the beginning even if I remember it being better later on. I do have a set of critiques for later sections of the story as well actually (from what I remember anyways). I remember quite liking the setting overall and the amount of detail that went into kitsune society. I liked their evolution and power system, how for most characters they used a few powers in a versatile way instead of having a dozen powers that only do one thing (except for Tang, who actually suffers from the problem of having way too many abilities to use them all, seriously, the story needs to turn it down a little). And of course I have some more nitpicks here and there but nothing that's stop me. Except for getting through the beginning. Apparently my tolerance for it has gone down.

I’m cracking up at the rinse and repeat of the main character’s interactions

Pest comes to him, defeats pest then adds them to his collection or kiIIs them, then the cycle continues

Always the “Is he really human?” that keeps me laughing so hard, the author didn’t try at all

All this praise for an idiotic main character, I hated the first book and I hate this one too
