[NaNoWriMo] A Flower's Promise to a Reaper's Lover

Felendor Death, formerly hell's greatest general, lives in despair after the death of his lover. In his solitude, he keeps the company of a flower named Rasath, and as the years flow by, the pain in his heart doesn't fade. He attested it to the cursed magic that liquefies his essence mana. Or perhaps it was merely his love for her...

And the flower, his only memento of her, had made a promise to his lover when she was still alive. So for her sake, it stays in hell to absorb Felendor's cursed mana as it yearns to have him search for her lost soul. With its roots they could find her, but the reaper refuses because they had failed before—as the memories had pained him.

Now they try again, and as the reaper's heart resonates at the discovery of her presence, he is thrown into a past that rings more true and vivid than ever before:

The wanton slaughter, the flowing blood, the biting solitude, the lust and love.

Will he awaken to see her… Or was there something greater behind the flower's promise?
