I don't mind harem, but I came into this expecting a cultivation/action manga, and not an old lady dating simulator.
Man, if I wanted to read hentai, I would read hentai. I grant that the art in this is not bad, and the female characters have attractive proportions, but I feel that this would work better if the author just abandoned all pretense of a cultivation/action manhua and just released it as a hentai instead. As it is, there is too much censorship for it to work as a hentai, and the action and cultivation are much too lacking for it to work as a conventional cultivation manhua. So it really fails at being both.
Why did I drop it at chapter 89? Because this is when the MC is given the task to woo some old lady. The MC is apparently a genius at wooing old ladies so this is a piece of cake for him. The problem is that wooing old ladies fills up most of the MC's time, and consequently the manhua itself.
Again, there is nothing wrong with old lady dating simulators. I know there must be people out there who like that kind of thing, but it's not my cup of tea. I came into this manga expecting cultivation and action and fights, and instead got an old lady dating sim, which I do not find very exciting or enjoyable (but to each his own).
In terms of execution, I will say that even the dating parts are not done very well. It feels lacklustre and to be honest the character motivations do not seem very convincing.
The women in this manga fall head over heels for him for no apparent reasons. They seem to be portrayed as simpletons, even though they've been alive for hundreds if not thousands of years.
I think I Am An Evil God (a similar manga in many ways) has much better characterization. The female characters in I Am An Evil God have actually believable motivations and don't just fall completely head over heels in love with the MC just because he said some nice words or gave some gifts to them. I would consider I Am An Evil God top tier, while I consider this manga mid-tier at best.
