First of all, the art is not bad. It's nothing amazing but above average.
The story is the problem. In summary, an amazing modern fitness trainer (and physiotherapist, food expert etc.) is transported into a murim novel as a shaolin disciple.
Now this is where it all goes bad. The author has no actual knowledge of martial arts, traditional training or even Shaolin.
For some reason, everyone in Shaolin works hard to destroy their bodies via repetitive incorrect training (!) and he can also defeat older disciples by applying wrestling techniques he had learnt in the special forces because obviously the monks have never seen grappling before (!).
The premise itself is absolutely ridiculous. What did it for me was the fact that he keeps calling squats a "modern exercise" and he somehow thinks that a few months of "modern" military training is somehow better than years studying traditional martial arts.
Apart from that, nothing has really happened but lots of secondary characters have been already introduced. No plot in sight.
the story isn't going anywhere. At least, nowhere interesting. I also don't like how the MC doesn't have any defining features that make him stand out from all the other monks. They all look exactly the same. Having different eye color or eyebrows isn't enough.
I just lol'ed at the story about how a long history shaolin sect monk trainee have a knee pain in their training. I know the author just want to emphasize MC knowledge about gym thingy, but there are many other proper way though.
