    I'd make the argument that it's art reflecting real life. While you looking at someone, how much do you really pay attention to your environment? People are just shapes in the corner of your eyes until you focus on them. In that vain, why bother putting in a ton of detail into that wall he ran past? Does it matter? The real meat of this story revolves around it's characters. And real desperate fighting. Which it does well.
