Asura Chapter 76

It's not a perfect manhwa but the plot is engaging and MC feels like a real guy with his own personality and sadly enough both of those are very rare in most transmigration manhwas especially the ones about a game.
And for once the game mechanics make sense! The author didn't write about a game that wouldn't be published let alone be "The best-selling game ever" 😀
I have to emphasize that this is my opinion of the first season since manhwas tend to go downhill in the second season or around chapter 100 so it might change soon.
I find the story promising and well-developed. The protagonist is a hardcore gamer, so he knows about the world once he's reincarnated into it.
Sometimes, he struggles to achieve his goals, but thanks to his teammates and his knowledge, he always succeeds.
I find the story engaging and I'm eager to see what happens next.
The novel is LONG and I think still ongoing. Multiple plot lines develop that make things very complicated, characters come and go and come back between story arcs. The world building in the novel is immense and deep. It's actually impressive.
However, that's the novel. Adapting it to a webtoon must be quite daunting. The first season I think was done well, but it covers maybe 5% of what has been published of the novel. I'm excited to see it, but it'll take 10 years to adapt the whole story. And we don't even know if the ending will make the ride worthwhile yet.
Also, it's not harem. The people around him actually end up noticing and gossiping about how he's surrounded by women, but they're actually just really capable fighters. There IS mild romance in that he has mutual feelings with 1 character (but of course things can't be easy) and there's a different character who acts crazy yandere to him. That's it. There's a great female cast that are all badass and don't just exist for the sake of the ML
3/10. The story gets off to a really strong start but disappointingly devolves into mediocre chaff.
In early chapters the hero desperately struggles to survive a level one goblin trap which is great tension, but as the story develops so too does the hero develop invulnerable plot armor which dutifully wipes away any suspense.
Interesting combat tactics and decision-making in early chapters -- for example, an arm being disabled forcing the protagonist to choose which of his two weapons suits the situation better -- are replaced by plot contrivances as he conveniently manifests whatever item or ability he needs to adapt to the problem which was introduced only 3 panels earlier.
The moment it feels like the hero starts to develop chemistry with one of the (predominantly female) supporting cast the author contrives a way to sideline them for the foreseeable future in favor of introducing some new potential love interest as we barrel towards a nonsense harem ending.
The hero's early internal conflict of adjusting morals to a violent new environment goes nowhere as he just becomes an unrepentant murderhobo while side characters similarly discard their principles in favor of becoming sycophants mindlessly justifying his decision making to the audience.
All in all it seems like the author of the original source material had enough ideas for an average setting and a few readable early chapters and then had no creative juice left so they just pumped out whatever day by day, which has bled into this visual adaptation
if suddenly found oneaelf reincarnated into RPG world this would probably be accurate 😅
Smart MC, hard working. The story always has him struggling to survive and there is real tension, but not to the point of being depressing.
One the very best manhwas ever
at the same time i hate it cuz i hit the raws already, i need mooooore
