Another shitty sign is if the MC does not have any close male friends. In fact, the absolute easiest clue? If MC does NOT have good looking male friends who are strong in their own ways. Yep. He'd feel too threatened.
Notice how a lot of these MCs always have a gaggle of gorgeous women following their every move while their best male friends are almost always barely talented and ugly as fuck? This isn't a male vs female thing. This happens in stories aimed at women, too. The girl is always the most beautiful, the smartest and the baddest with a whole battalian of beautiful men slavishly willing to do anything for her while her besties are plain or always being cheated or are not as intelligent as she is. Can't have another woman take the spotlight from her!
