Anyway, i have a hunch why miyo said en no ozumo will never marry lmao. it was probably because he liked his own okami (Who wouldn't? Lol).
As Wikipedia says, he is the monk who sealed this hito-kotonushi . Maybe this manga has its own way of telling it. He went on a journey to collect everything so he could make something (like special temple or shrine or realm) for the hito-kotonushi he loves, because we know the dragon goddess is the only okami who lives in the human world.
And we know that the goddess has a curse that may only be cured if she is 'sealed' in her own Shrine or temple or realm, Far apart from the mortal realm to keep The one he loves alive.
then en no ozuma will become a loyal servant or perhaps a 'sacred treasure' of the hito-kotonushi just like a boy from the future who becomes ai-no-ko's sacred treasure.Or maybe Something on par with hito-kotonushi like sennin or dragon itself
