Horny Council Chapter 80

Record of Ragnarok is a series that lives off of hype. Every fight has high stakes and incredible moments that get the heart pumping. It isn't without flaws, however. Despite the prevalence of magic in mythology, it is largely not present in the fights. Every single fighter is a melee specialist, even if they have no business being so. Additionally, some concepts are reused rather brazenly, sometimes even in concurrent fights. Moves with kickback that damage the user happen in literally every fight so far, bar one. On top of that, despite their appearance in mythology frequently, there are no women on the roster of either side. The closest you get are the valkyries, who are quite literally tools for the humans. The greater cosmology of the universe is also never explored or explained, either.
Turn your brain off and you will find fun. If you can't do that, this series is not for you.
Take the insane power levels of gods, throw in a bunch of mortals that can rival them, and put them into a tournament arc. Now cut all the fat so it's just the tournament. It is exactly as good as something this bare bones can be, which is pretty decent.
I have some qualms about the japanified pantheons. Once I noticed that Zeus was just a redesigned Master Roshi, it was clear that these aren't the traditional portrayals of the gods and historical figures. It's really just taking a smorgasbord of anime character archetypes and matching them to close enough approximations of their character. At least no one has been horribly miscast. It's just a shame that a lot of the characters feel like borderline copies of popular characters.
It's been a while since I've been this exited reading a manga, definitely recommended for everyone looking for good fights.
Holy moly. My blood hasn't boiled like this in a while.
this series is mad good
That's lazy gossiping neighbor level right there. That's exactly how people can get away so easily with scapegoats, because people like this fat fuck would just bite into it and wouldn't know that the true perpetrator escaped.
