If Tsuyoshi dropped the people that stuck by him and were willing to create a place for him to be accepted, just for pussy and the fact that he recently got to know her ... I would have lost even more respect for him.
He did the right thing to stick with the people that are and have always been helping him.
All this given his current circumstances and since he just met her.

If you're here because you enjoyed the S1 anime tremendously, I recommend you do not read the manga or watch S2 of the anime.  The anime was beautiful and touching wasn't it?  Beyond that point in the story, you will lose all those positive vibes.  The manga has an ending that ruins it all. Leave with your good memories about a surrogate father and an abandoned little girl.  Instead, just imagine that all the good things happen in the story.  I wish I did.
