Lupin the Third and his eclectic gang are back in Shin Lupin III! This time around, several of the stories are brand new or adapted from or to the Lupin Part 2 anime. Notably, the opening story was even animated on its own a few years later!
Lupin the Third is the grandson of the legendary literary thief Arsène Lupin. His partners in crime include the expert marksman Jigen Daisuke, the stoic samurai Goemon Ishikawa XIII, and the unpredictable lover/enemy Fujiko Mine. Their objective is to outsmart adversaries far more powerful than themselves while securing the world's rarest and most valuable treasures, all while evading Inspector Zenigata, who has dedicated his career to capturing Lupin.
In the manga, however, Zenigata's relationship with the titular thief isn't as respectful as one might expect. He has attempted to kill Lupin multiple times without hesitation!
