To anyone passing by, the story of the servant of evil is now a tiny part in the "Evilious Chronicles", a serie of vocaloid songs that you can find on youtube
I think i like this version better, it is much more simple and self contained than the official continuity, and Rin has actual agency
So far really poorly written and quite confused about its premise since the rangers have been shown as quite the complex characters that just got a shit hand dealt to them and are trying to deal with a horrible situation in the best way they can while the invaders have all been irredimible assholes that kill humans without a second thought even the ones you are supposed to sympathize with commit atrocities like genociding an entire town.
But the biggest problem is D the protagonist and his inability to grow and how much the writer repeats the same arc with him where he realizes that the invaders did awful things to the humans and how both sides are in the wrong so he decides to side with neither and beat both yet by the next arc he is back to being a hypocrite that thinks humans hate invaders for no reason and refuses to admit all the horrible things he and his kind did. It also doesn’t help that D is more than okay with killing innocents and that the humans shown to be pro invaders are all lunatics that just want to feed humans to the invaders. So the manga more than once unintentionally proves the rangers right and makes you root for them instead.
All in all I am going to keep reading it for the mystery the mangaka has built but I am done collecting the physical volumes since based on the writer’s previous work the series will probably have a bad ending and he will not fix the issues plaguing the series.
In regards to chapter 12,
Honestly, the story is quite... mediocre...
What i really disliked is the pacing as it is really inconsistant nd sometimes there are chapters that show no plot progression at all and there only fights that continue till like 5 chapters
Another thing i disliked is the characters, the red ranger is potrayed like the boys(amazon prime) villain Homelander. However, the red ranger lacks the same charisma that Homelander had. Due to this, the red ranger just seems to be someone who has a good guy persona and when he is alone with people with familiarity with him, he becomes the most disrespectful person in the room. One point he smashed a guys head in the wall.
The mc is not ur typical protag, but he is just evil with a heart of fools gold, like he purposefully acts evil, will sttempt to do evil shit, but in the process he does something nice and he is like great. I wished the protagonist had better convictions as his conviction are literally "my people keep dying, i need to kill rangers cause of their abuse" like while i understand this is a conviction, i just really dont like how i am unable to relate to this.
Lastly the chapters are boring, dont get me wrong, the fights are okay, better than mid. However with the amount of people that are introduced as side characters and the main characters that are forgotten about. Its hard to stay on track on whats even going on. At this point i have a seki clear idea of what is currently happening in chapter 100, however because there was so many filler pages prior to that, i feel like a skipped a large part of the story, most likely due to some story elements being inside the giant filler
