Well if you include the context, about the elementary schooler knowing his most valuable secret (AKA he is friends with a magician) his mission would be in jeopardy with the possibility of the elementary schooler leaking information but I think he mainly did it because his perception on his peers is "they are fools" and "I'm smarter than them" as he constantly reminds himself he is better than them, of course nobody would trust a "fool" with the thing most important to them.
