I was a bit hesitant to start this series bec I do choose my webtoons carefully (I've had to deal with a lot of spotty plots eveb with nice art, le sigh) and while the blurb is nice I'll never know what will happen once I check the chapters
I love the slow build up of emotions in this story. The interactions click into place like puzzle pieces and the conversations are entertaining, difficult at times, and heartwarming
This has a lot of bias from me who loves same-sex parenting tropes. Plus the baby girl is adorable too huhu
There's not a lot going on for tension or conflict in this story but I won't spoil the good stuff. All I can add is that this is a soothing series that gives a lot of warm vibes
I started reading this because I was looking for a wholesome BL with a fluffy story and low drama. It does complete those checkboxes, but the more I read it, the more I realized that nothing really happens for a lot of characters other than his annoying villagers being rude towards them.
This would be fine for a short series but the longer it goes I feel like I lost interest in the plot. I do recc'd it for BL fans who enjoy slow-paced with a parenting and family focus w/o being omegaverse though.
Also it's buff x buff which is a niche already so...
I feel a surge of joy and butterflies every time a new episode is released because this manhwa is genuinely heartwarming. The couple's romance feels so authentic and sincere, and their baby girl brings an adorable touch that makes it even more delightful.
Sung Ho is a self-assured military man from the States who returns to his homeland with his newborn, choosing to settle in a rural area of Korea. His confidence shines through, especially as he takes the initiative in the romance, setting the stage for a dynamic relationship.
He is a strong, well-rounded character, showcasing a blend of determination and tenderness that makes him relatable. His background as a military man adds layers to his personality; he embodies discipline and strength, yet also reveals a softer side as he navigates the challenges of newfound fatherhood and love.
Kwon Haebeom, his male lead, complements Sung Ho perfectly. Kwon Haebeom is the village chief of the area and is a classic tsundere character who may come off as distant at first glance, but beneath that cold exterior lies a warm and affection person. He embodies everything you could desire in a partner—loyalty, strength, respect and unwavering support. His seemingly tough facade hides a caring nature, making his moments of vulnerability all the more impactful.
As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that he is not just a strong presence; he also brings a unique blend of charm and emotional complexity that adds richness to his character. Kwon Haebeom goes beyond expectations, revealing himself to be the perfect blend of toughness and tenderness.
Their interactions are filled with tension and warmth, making their journey not only engaging but also deeply emotional. It includes some spice, but primarily shows their everyday life together and the emotional bond they share.
Additionally, Sung Ho's newborn daughter is a wonderful part of the story that makes it more charming. The best part of every episode is seeing the clothes Sung Ho picks out for her. Each outfit shows how caring he is as a father, and they often steal the show by adding a fun visual element that us fans can't get enough of.
The baby's birth mother named her "Unknown," which feels quite cold and impersonal. However, we readers are eagerly anticipating the moment she receives a name that truly suits her. Overall, you should absolutely read this because it is just as wonderful and heartwarming as it appears and sounds.
I avoid stories with young children, so was a little hesitant to start reading this
I didn't need to worry. The baby filled a role similar to a pet dog.
I love this story. I always look forward to the next chapter.
It's SO cute T_____T must read!
Balanced power, cute kid, relatable issues, interesting side characters, well played comic relief
One of my favorites ongoing BL series these days! Great characters, great plot, no typical shitty plot twist (so popular unfortunately in this industry lately), just beautiful story, love it!! ❤️ Keep it up❤️🙏
