I agree that the writing seems a little wonky at some points, primarily dealing with pacing and that yes the dialogue can be a little "cliche", but even then this is a worthy 8.5 in all those areas and has moments that surpass that too.

About the Brimhats, their ideologies and rhetoric... well, we still are exploring them, the Pointyhats clearly have problems we have seen since now and the author doesn't pass them as trivial, but they still work for the betterment of people, but like real life that effort isn't made of sunshine and rainbows.

The Brimhats at this moment as they are portrayed are a bunch of arrogant and selfish assholes because even if they do have a good reason to rebel they are the people that choose to rebel by hurting others, this too happens in real life, many horrible movements started with a good reason that is why they get traction and grow.

I see... so he's not the type to think out of the box or be creative. He's the type to just follow orders word for word. I suppose that's a good mentality type for a soldier who just falls in line, not have their own thinking, and just follows the drills and commands from their commanders.

Arc knew who the target was, he didn't know that the asshole crown prince made it so that his fiancee would die in his place.

Shit story with shit pacing and shit character development. Great art.
