After the brutal massacre of his family by the traitor Ashikaga Takauji, Tokiyuki escapes with the aid of a few loyal retainers who also survived the purge. Among them is Suwa Yorishige, an ally of the Hojo clan and lord of Suwa Province. The somewhat eccentric Yorishige claims to be clairvoyant and predicts that Tokiyuki will one day rule Japan. For now, though, their priority is to escape enemy territory!
