    "...got her hands dirty for Nozoe's future....loves him" So I'm guessing both Yuko and glasses lady wanted to be the heroine in Esemori's novel. Yuko probably wanted to be immortalized/recognized in Esemori's novel as a famous legacy, to leave her mark on the world and be liberated from her ties to the mundane town/life she hates so much. And glasses lady wanted to save Esemori by replacing the toxic Yuko as Esemori's heroine in his mind/novel so he can move on and live a happier life.
