But you're wrong anyway since forgiveness is possible and has happened in the real world. There are plenty of examples of World War 2 vets forgiving members of the opposition, family members of victims of murder forgiving the murderers, and countries that used to be at war now living in peace. Maybe the problem isn't the author; perhaps you are the problem for being too close-minded about one tiny and mostly insignificant moment in a fictional work.
