Eyup, as expected, backstory does not in any way make Nazutani even slightly likeable. Being a comedy heel is fine, but he is actively attacking someone and disregarding that the person he is attacking was better toward his former partner than he ever was. It isn't for comedy, it isn't even public, he is just a terrible person. So he made himself fat to be a heel? Who possibly cares? He was holding a person's DEATH over the head of an innocent person just to abuse someone he was well aware wasn't really at fault (in fact, Nazutani did way more damage)

Oh he didn't want the baggage of having a dead partner weighing down regular comedy he did. It is utterly absurd to actually believe that reputation would stick forever. People would either not look it up, progressively forget, or enough time would pass that attaching something that happened a miniscule fraction into their career as totally overshadowing their reputation built from actual shows.

Felt like story was taking off in a dramatic way and then everything was rushed for a mid tier happy ending

It's an okay martial arts manga. The art became vastly better with time but the plot became absolutely convoluted (same thing happened with Air Gear by the same author). I've read it years ago but I wouldn't read it again.

sameeeeeee when they began with that sex scene, i really felt like the author and artist could have done a dedicated scene or panel for it to at least give it some proper plot... i mean come on sure sex scenes are sex scenes but they sometimes carry the story with some importance or weight.
