Fuck, the world building in this is so damn good! Everything ties into everything and even if Yoshida feels like a cog in the machine, everyone does, even the middle management.
My favourite bits are the ones at the end of each tank, where you have a squad for continuity of the books. It gives you moments of both meta humour and also ties into the greater world building.

Also, sushimancy is a thing.

The art and story is phenomenal, such a gem. Terrifying concept to think about though

While I don't like the ending at ALL, I found out that there is an epilogue to the story where everyone is graduated and whatnot. Can't read Japanese so from what I can understand looking at the picture, it looks like Hoshino and Kobayakawa end up back together, Matsukata gets into a lesbian relationship with Kano after becoming a pro? (Can't tell could just be them working together and living together) And it looks like takahashi gets a job with nishimura and his other baseball friend. Honestly, it doesn't save save the ending but its better then nothing!

I'd assume the next arc is his guardian ninja going over how he's the mega sage 5000.
