The reason why i do not really like it is because it never takes itself seriously. I understand this is a comedy manga and as a result, it should make sense that somethings are never taken seriously.

Howeverr i cringe, like whenever the uncle shows the tsundere elf memories to his nephew, literally every advance she attempts to take, the uncle just acts like a block head (which i understand, this is a comedy manga, these troupes are supposed to be funny) but now i see the nephew doing the same thing to his childhood friend, despite knowing that the elf girl actually liked his uncle, and the uncle knows that the chilldhood friend likes the nephew.

The issue i see is that they cannot take their own love advice and see when they are getting hit on. As a result, some of the chapters just run on with the mcs just denying the women because they are too thick headed. This gets repeated a significant amount of times. As a result, the manga becomes stale

I could have worded this better. But tldr, if you want comedy and dont mind being somehwat infuriated with the characters sometimes with their decisions, go read this manga

One of the best comedy mangas in the last 10 years. Interesting characters, great gags, engaging story and fanservice is just right, some but not too much.

This manga starts out quite interesting, a returnee from an Isekai adjusting to the modern world and recounting his tales to his nephew. It repeatedly hints at a greater story for both his history in the Isekai world and the events occurring in ours.

Unfortunately, it never delivers. In 40 some chapters, I can't make note of any character growth at all. Every single character is static. There are no major shifts to the story or setting either. It's like the author has ideas of how to make a complex narrative and interesting characters but is too scared of change to implement them, so instead he relied on the character's central gags. Even that could be interesting if this were a gag manga and sufficient twists were put in the formula to keep character gags interesting. But no, it's the same thing every single time.

Early on there's a fair bit of cringe-comedy. Especially when it comes to interactions with the tsundere (god I feel bad for her). There's also some really funny normal comedy throughout.
It's definitely better for people who have some idea of the isekai genre tropes, as it is a parody foremost.

The reddit theories that show in the scanlator's credit page radically changed my view on the entire story though. Makes everything have this air of bitter-sweetness so I feel like it coloured my view of the story from that point onwards. I'm really looking forward to the conclusion so I can see how it plays out, unfortunately this looks like the type of series that could continue for ten more years with gags :/

Oh! This isn't really a gag-series, though. It starts with self-contained gag stories but it's actually piecing together 17 years of adventures. And this is mostly done in a linear fashion where one flashback will follow shortly after the last.

This..is a good series. And different, though it reminds me of other dark depressing series. But it's a comedy..
I actually think it'll do better as an anime, but after I saw the PV I couldn't wait and read it and now that i'm far past what the first couple seasons could reasonably reach 🙁 (edit:turns out it reached ch 33 in one season)
edit: The anime overall I'd say is a better way of consuming it because the animation and ost is pretty much perfect for its style. Also the Japanese VAs are either decent or absolutely perfect! (The English dub is hit or miss: Uncle, Elf, childhood friend are all great, Mabel, imo, is too distracting [though an interesting choice] and I just don't like Hero's)

It's a nice comedy that's parodying the isekai genre (though not as directly as some other series). The humor is a little subtle, but not too subtle, if that makes any sense. I recommend reading a chapter or two to see if you like it.
