    It was left ambiguous so I agree, it's very lacking. On the other hand, let's say that he did take Toyo as his wife, started a family and continued on like as if the events during Ichigeki never happened. I'm sure Uchigorou would never even mention his time as a fake spec ops 'samurai' to any of his sons but did well as a simple farmer again.
