    Exactly what Ohmargod said.

    This whole thing seems super contrived and rushed, and it's all to get to that flash-forward sequence which is the only reason why people (what's left of them) have put up with Boruto up to this point.  Boruto made the same mistakes Dragon Ball did: raising the power levels and feets to raise the stakes, but if the writing isn't good enough, then all it does is devalue what came before.  On a whim, Eida achieved in seconds what Madara took decades of planning to accomplish.
