    I understand a lot of your observations and where you're coming from! This sounds like something I'd write in my personal documents when reviewing a series for the first time. Everyone views a quote differently, which can be both seen as a positive and a negative. It can come off as cheesy to frequently turn to others' wording instead of creating your own, but if it's simply used for inspiration or insight, then a bit of analysis is alright to me. Additionally, I agree in that this series is able to have realistic elements, but not so realistic as to play out like a documentary. It is a story, after all, so there will be suspension of disbelief: which may explain the "competency" observation.
