    they couldn't write an ending where the criminal gets away with it, regardless of motives, but i appreciate that it's a clean ending with no loose ends. Wish we could've gotten a little more about the daughter though, as in, if she actually became a defense attorney standing up for criminals, would have been an interesting twist
