ML is currently under 25, has been mute for 10 years but has been in a marriage of convenience for only one year. They got married right after ML and FL graduated from college.
FL had a really bad experience with her one previous boyfriend in college, bad enough that it turned her off to men in general. She picked up ML as a boyfriend/fiance in order to shield and protect herself. The ONE incident in the story involves a female college friend who obviously had no feelings for her at all, drugged her and set her up to be raped by the main villain of the early story (her childhood friend, btw... This girl has had zero luck picking friends up to this point). ML witnesses the whole thing and rescues FL.

It is implied that there was some past relationship between the two women but, at the time there had been NO relationship between FL and ML other than on paper. ML saving FL is really the very early start of their romance.

As to ML having to do housework, give me a break. Dude has no job and gets free room and board. IMO he should be doing a lot more than some laundry or sweeping to contribute to the household. And yeah, his MIL is a bitch to him. Pretty sure that's very common for MILs. He also gets flak from the younger (highschool age) sister. Again, not so unusual for a highschool girl to hate on their brother-in-law.

Overall the story is well thought out and entertaining. It's a Cultivation story and if that's your thing there's not much to hate about it.

I wished that I have read the comment here before starting this and it would have saved me form reading this trash. It's as what's said in the other comment, wife cheat on the MC with other girls (for years) and there's a chapter where one of her girlfriends drugging her and offering her to some guy (mc saves her there) but if that's how this have been going for ten years with wife and her girlfriends............I'm just pissed writing about, most frustrating thing is MC say's "that's all in the past" and frogives her just like that....and when a girl tried to approach him he says,he's married and loyal to his wife. Wife hears it because she was near and she doesn't even show any remorse about what she has done before to MC....I hate NTR stories and this was worse because MC was spineless sh*t....

This manhua is ass. Theres no other way to describe it. The MC is treated like dogsht by his family because he couldn't speak, his wife even cheating on him with another girl. At this point you would think that the MC would get revenge or humiliate this shtty family but no, it turns out that the reason why he couldn't speak was because he was training (what sort of training is that lmao) so after his 10years of silence his training finishes and instead of leaving he says that he was training in order to protect his family in law. Like BRUH they treat you like sh*t, you get NTR'd by your wife and you were forced to do house chores even though you were their son in law. To conclude, PLEASE do not read this garbage it would be better to read something else.
