    The hero being evil cliche usually has them be superficially charming to help their lies along, or in the case that they aren't then their higher-ups at least have some suspicion that something is up. In this case we have a hero who is SO bad at acting good that it's honestly a bit weird that nobody seems to cast suspicions on the guy who seems to have resorted to leaving no witnesses on more than one occasion. It's... really hard for there to actually be no witnesses when you're talking something like an entire scouting squad on horseback. It's a scout squad, fanning out and making sure someone comes back is kinda the entirety of the job description. I get it, still an early villain, clearly fodder for the dragon to struggle against, evolve, then wipe, but you'd really think a title as grand as hero would get an extra layer of suspicion thrown on you for not saving anyone, frequently.
