Manga fans hate when a series gets milked because its done far too fucking often and it only gets worse when a series gets adapted into an anime. It really shouldn't surprise you that people are shitting on this series when it clearly had an intended ending which everyone seemed to enjoy. The issue is that the author saw the potential $$$ to be made and said fuck that ending and thus down the milking rabbit hole this series went until it ended up in mediocrity lane.
