    In my opinion the Death Note movie was entirely different and removed all the good things about Death Note and what makes it interesting. That being said I don't mind a race switch as long as it's not unreasonable within the context (for example, in a live action about Yasuke's story you should portray Yasuke as white or any other race because the point is that he's black, or in a live action about vikings they are all probably gonna be slavic people) and same thing for LGBT representation, if being LGBT isn't the only personality trait of that character or point of that show
