Conclusion; This series is better when his friends are around, not when it's focusing on the MC's strength.
When it does, the story becomes bland and the adventure is unrecognizable.
When it focuses on Rubia or Rena, we're reminded that Mr. Skeleton's quest isn't an empty search for power.

That's not the intent of the manga, plus it's way too early for that with him anyway. He's only just recently accepted that people even like him in a friend way. The chapter even mentioned he has self destructive tendencies when it comes to fighting for his friends.
