Couldn't get past the first chapter due to the art style and an odd beginning.
Art:
The artwork is decent but overly cluttered with effects, making it hard to follow. The paneling is poorly executed, adding to the confusion. However, there are exceptions where the art isn't cluttered and flows smoothly, which is quite impressive.
Story:
I didn't read beyond the first chapter, so I can't comment much on the plot. :3
Characters:
The characters in the first chapter are simple and one-dimensional, but that's not unusual for a start. Their designs aren't particularly unique or cool; they're rather basic. From the first chapter, you can already predict how the main character will develop.
Conclusion:
This manga is quite basic, offering nothing particularly interesting or noteworthy.
The anime only covers half of the entire series.
Story: The story in the novel is much more detailed, explaining everything with greater clarity. The graphic and grotesque scenes are so vivid that they can make your stomach churn while reading. Each chapter leaves you on the edge of your seat, craving for more as you approach the end.
Art: One word to describe it: WOW!!! It's incredibly detailed, and it's... I can't even put it into words, but it's just so awesome.
Characters: The novel series provides a lot more background for each character, which I think is really beneficial. The characters look way cooler and tougher compared to how they appear in the anime.
Enjoyment: This novel series makes you beg for more, and you find yourself wanting to re-read it over and over again.
My opinion: If they incorporated all the great elements from the novel series into the anime adaptation, it would have been at least rated R. Can't wait for the next volume!
I give this series 10 out of 10.
