Getting mad at her at this point wouldn't solve much. its been 30+ years at some point you just have to accept that's who they're, and refusing a customer just because you don't like her view point or parenting is bad business. He hasn't seen his mom in who knows how many years, even if he has a bad relationship with her doesn't make pushing her away solve anything but create more distance. The innkeeper was more angry because she is like a mother figure to him. He is confused on how to feel about her, she gave him the skills to survive and it is up to him how he uses them. She might have failed as a mom in many ways but at least she thought him how to fight.
PS: She is a bitch for taking all the money and abandoning a 15 year old to survive on his own.

Cause he is a piece of trash and deserves his fate.
