At this point of the story so far (chapter 40.1) I can assume that the MC are indeed naive, childish and stupid, it pains me to see the character doesnt develop well within the span of 3 saga already, even after the fight with the Hero that I thought would make him responsible with his power. Yes, he's fucking stupid
