@Tional No the writing has always been bad because this series was largely an afterthought. Kishimoto the author couldn't come up with an original idea so he simply continued the Nartuo franchise. He continues to pull more shit ideas out of his ass and its caused this series to be a mess.

Remember that Boruto was originally a series that was supposed to focus on the adventures of the next generation. Instead due to the series poorer than expected sales and lackluster reception he leaned on the old cast far more than the new one thus causing it to lose its identity. Now from there on the story has been a mess of poorly implemented ideas and bad writing.

Its a problem with the art style too. I genuinely had a hard time telling whether Konohamaru was supposed to be older than the ninja that were like a decade younger than him.

This series is bad. I love sections of it but for the most part, Super is ass. No real stakes. No new stories. The closest to new was the Cereal arc and that was just as badly written as the Buu arc
