Nothing happened but I felt so tense throughout the whole thing. On paper, it looks like a silly filler chapter that has nothing happening. But in context this chapter shows how different the Desmonds are to the Forgers. Even through not much was said, there was a lot shown by how each must feel about the other and their poor relationship as a family.  Damian is the only one trying to connect with the older ones but he's not old enough to fully understand why things are so tense and is neglected. Melinda sits awkwardly and has mostly given up on connecting with her estranged family and can't wait for things to be over. Demetrius is most like his father and acts mechanically like what a son and heir of Donovan's, should act. All while Donovan is the most mysterious and the source of the misery they are facing, watchful and paranoid but simply claim to enjoy a quiet family dinner but even that's not a certain thing.
