Some of those panels are so highly detailed that it puts manga to shame.
And I really like the genre of "getting hikikomori to embrace life". It's not tacky or on the nose, it's how you fight depression in RL. Slowly, steady and before you know it, you've changed and manage to love life and yourself. Which incidentally fits for both of our protagonists.

this axe fucking sucks this series deserves to go on forever. what were they thinking this could have become the next kochikame. The cast was all so likable and had visible growth and the comedy was so funny. I genuinely cannot imagine why this series was axed.
