The haunting impact of Japanese horror cinema has captivated Western audiences, with films like The Ring, which are based on Japanese movies adapted from classic manga stories. The master of horror manga is Umezu Kazuo, often referred to as the "Stephen King of Japan." Several of his tales have been adapted into films, and Dark Horse Manga is proud to introduce his Scary Book horror anthology to Western readers for the first time.
This initial volume, Reflections, features two full-length stories of terror. In "Mirror," a self-absorbed girl's reflection starts to maliciously take control of her life. In "Demon's Revenge," a cruel samurai master, driven by a desire for retribution for his son's injuries, finds himself on the receiving end of vengeance.
(Source: Dark Horse) Kowai Hon was partially published in English as Scary Book by Dark Horse. They released the first three volumes from February 21, 2006, to September 12, 2006, before discontinuing the series. The three volumes are titled Reflections, Insects, and Faces.
These volumes offer chilling narratives that showcase Umezu's mastery of horror, providing Western readers with a glimpse into the dark and intricate world of Japanese horror manga.

Let’s hope Tabata avoids that Ending Curse.
And I am actually 100% here for it.
Most will probably hate it, but we have teenage ninjas, might as well use the dumb plots that are done best with teenagers and ninjas. Spying on a girl who's crushing on you and also basically omniscient? Yes please.
This is so dumb but I kinda love this.
