    dw I think the reaction is overblown simply because people care a lot about the characters here. The "hesitation" of the MC isn't that long or overblown. The romance isn't the main focus at all, it's about enjoying life while you still can, and what better way to do that when there's a Zombie Apocalypse ! It's a lot of fun to read but also has some sprinkles of a deeper topic at play.
