i think it's implying he doesn't want to cook another big group meal, so it's either sell what he made for them and eat something simpler (for opportunistic profit), or sell something simpler to make (still for opportunistic profit).  not entirely unreasonable, and between LN adaptation and translation, some nuance has probably been lost.

if it helps, this entire thing is basically profiteering anyway considering his functionally infinite resources, and he got some dudes killed for no reason like 3 chapters prior.  whole thing's operating on dream logic, morally shot.  you don't shit out isekai by being introspective
