I also don't believe it's selfish to have kids unless you're having them for the sake of saying "look how amazing I am." Selfishness is defined as ignoring the desires and needs of someone/something else for your own personal profit or pleasure. Children generally aren't profitable and no one has kids for the sake of having kids. Sure, there's pleasure involved, but it's usually in the sense that you desire to grow up to be happy and successful, not simply to be your servant. Abusive and truly selfish parents aside.
