As we know from the second fight with Lycagon also even with Wezaemon, these Colossi aren't just the run-of-the-mill AIs. They listen, they know, they react to the point that it even surprised Sunraku. Also, I don't think it's just limited to the Colossi, NPCs that are connected to a Colossi in some way are the same but 95% of the NPCs in the game don't. Emul is one who has that Adv-AI as she's the key to getting to Vash first and foremost.

Truth be told I gave it a try on a read because I saw Yoko Taro's name on the authors' list, he can be a little heavy-handed sometimes but you would need to be cruel to say that he doesn't know how to make you think.

The Nier series is a mind-bending story with some lows, but it still delivers a really good experience.

There is no revenge story in this or at least by the main character.
