The story is exceptionally unique and stands out among yaoi genres. It incorporates historical references like the Jacobin Party, adding a layer of realism that enhances the narrative.
Art: 8
Initially, I wasn't particularly drawn to Yoshinaga's art style. However, as I delved deeper into the story, I realized how well her illustrations complement and elevate the tale in G & J. She masterfully captures the essence of France during the period in which the manga is set. If you're hesitant due to the initial impression of the artwork, reconsider—it truly grows on you.

The characters are wonderfully crafted. The development of the two main protagonists is particularly impressive. Flashbacks were used effectively and felt integral to the story, never becoming tedious.
